Thunderstorm Watch Pro is the paid-product foundation for people who care about several places and do not want to repeatedly refresh a weather page. Saved-location monitoring is deployed for eligible accounts, while production checkout remains intentionally disabled. The complete manual ZIP result remains free, anonymous, and ungated.
The offer
- $29 USD per year, charged annually and automatically renewing until canceled.
- Monitor up to five saved five-digit US ZIP locations; paused locations retain a slot until deleted.
- Give each saved ZIP an optional plain-text label such as Home, Parents, School, or Cabin.
- Receive event-driven email when a Severe Thunderstorm Watch starts, materially changes, or ends after fresh official observations confirm the transition.
- See the current watch state, official expiration, last successful check, and monitoring health in the app.
- Pause, resume, or delete locations and manage renewal through a dedicated Stripe-hosted billing portal once paid launch is authorized.
There is no free trial, coupon, daily engagement email, SMS, push notification, phone call, radar, forecast, or monitoring for hazards other than Severe Thunderstorm Watches in v1.
What Pro does not promise
Pro uses a ZIP centroid, not an exact street address. The scheduled monitor targets one canonical national NWS Severe Thunderstorm Watch feed every two minutes, uses validated official-zone intersections first, official geometry only when zones cannot determine coverage, and a bounded official point fallback only if coverage remains indeterminate. Incomplete unrelated coverage can block a clear result but cannot erase a proven watch match. No exact cadence, delivery time, or uptime is guaranteed. Stale or failed official data remains unknown, and a watch end requires two consecutive fresh authoritative absences. Email can be delayed, filtered, suppressed, unavailable, or arrive after an official alert. A watch is not a warning, and a saved-location email cannot cover every dangerous weather condition.
Thunderstorm Watch is not an official government service. Pro is supplemental only. Keep Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled, use NOAA Weather Radio where available, follow local authorities, and rely on weather.gov for life-safety decisions.
Billing, cancellation, and deletion
The annual subscription is designed to renew automatically. The dedicated billing portal supports payment-method updates, invoice history, and cancellation at the end of the paid period. A failed renewal receives a seven-day billing grace period before monitoring eligibility pauses.
Deleting an account is different from ordinary cancellation. If a paid subscription still has current or future access, deletion requires an explicit acknowledgement that Thunderstorm Watch will request immediate Stripe cancellation and remaining paid access will end. This page does not promise a refund. Customer-facing refund wording must be approved before checkout opens.
Event-driven email only
Pro email is tied to account, billing, and watch-state events. Buying Pro will not enroll anyone in a newsletter, daily weather digest, marketing sequence, or tracking-pixel program. Operational delivery status may be recorded, but safety-related and account email does not use open-tracking pixels.
Current launch status
The D1 account service, scanner-safe passwordless sign-in, billing portal, strict Stripe webhook isolation, account export/deletion, saved-location controls, two-minute scheduled monitor, bounded transition confirmation, and pixel-free event-driven email transport are deployed. The protected app reports current state, official timestamps, expiration, and polling health for eligible accounts.
Production checkout remains disabled. No payment or new paid account can be submitted today. Checkout will stay disabled until the remaining legal/support launch gate is explicitly cleared. Existing eligible accounts can use the passwordless app login.
